Easthill Garden Project Day Brings Community Spirit to Life
We’re delighted to share the success of our recent Garden Project Day at Easthill Home for Deaf People on Saturday 12 August. Under a glorious summer sun, around 30 incredible volunteers joined us for a day of gardening, teamwork, and community connection.
Volunteers of all ages came along to help maintain and revitalise the gardens at Easthill. Whether it was weeding, planting, or simply catching up with old friends, there was a strong sense of community spirit felt in every corner of the garden.
Midway through the day, everyone gathered for a shared lunch, generously provided through kind donations. It was the perfect opportunity to rest, connect with new faces, and reflect on the progress we had already made.
Our garden continues to grow
Thanks to further donations received on the day, we were able to start shaping a brand new vegetable plot and soft fruit area. One of the most exciting developments was the creation of a beautiful new rose garden. The roses, all kindly donated, now bloom proudly against an old iron gate, giving it new purpose and a touch of timeless charm.
By the end of the day, the entire garden looked refreshed, full of promise, and ready to be enjoyed by Easthill residents and visitors alike.
Thank you to our volunteers and supporters
Days like this remind us how powerful volunteering can be in bringing people together and making a real difference to the lives of deaf people in our communities. We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated, or supported the event in any way. Your time, energy, and kindness have left a lasting impact on the residents and staff at Easthill Home for Deaf People.
