Located in Deaf Action’s historic deaf centre in Edinburgh, the Blackwood Bar is a relaxed and friendly space for all to enjoy.
Our bar is open to deaf and hearing people. We are open every week for drinks, food and events. Come along and enjoy a drink in a friendly and welcoming setting, or grab a bite to eat from our lunch menu. We have a selection of light lunches and snacks, with regular specials.
Opening hours
The Blackwood Bar is currently open during selected events and community activities.
Our regular opening hours are currently under review as we prepare for some exciting changes later this year.
At present, we are generally open on Thursdays from 11am to 5pm. Additional opening times will vary depending on events and activities taking place in the venue.

Events
There’s always something to enjoy at the Blackwood Bar. Every month we’ll host regular events like deaf clubs, bingo, deaf karaoke and pub quizzes, to extra special events for deaf and hearing people to enjoy. Everyone is welcome to our events.
