Over Christmas and New Year, there will be some changes to our services and operating hours.
Edinburgh office
Deaf Action’s offices at 49 Albany Street, Edinburgh, will be closed from 5pm 22 December until 9am 3 January. During this time, you will be unable to visit the offices, however, you can still contact the relevant services if you require support.
Public holidays
This year’s public holidays are as follows:

Tuesday 2 January
On these dates, Deaf Action’s services will be closed. However, if you have an emergency, you can contact Emergency Social Work through Contact Scotland BSL on 0800 731 6969.
Deaf Action’s Glasgow support services will continue as usual. In an emergency, please contact our Support Services Area Manager on 07741323255 (text only), or call 01312 853238 via SignVideo.
Interpreter and social work duty time
There will be no interpreter or social work duty sessions on Thursday 28 December. In an emergency, you can contact Emergency Social Work through Contact Scotland BSL on 0800 731 6969.
Interpreter and social work duty sessions will resume as normal on Thursday 4 January.
Communication and interpreting agency
Over the festive period, you will still be able to contact the Bookings team to request communication support. You can find the contact details and booking form here.
Blackwood Bar
The Blackwood Bar will be closed from Saturday 23 December and reopen Thursday 11 January, meaning this space will not be open to the public during this time.
