Deaf Action’s Youth Service has been selected to go forward for #ChooseYouthWork

A city wide project grant scheme in Edinburgh, that allows anyone aged 11-15 with a Young Scot Card the opportunity to vote for where they think the money should be spent.

Voting is now open here between the 5th March – 16th March.

Our Youth Service at Deaf Action, allows young deaf people across Edinburgh and the Lothians to get together and build friendships with others.

Staffed by three youth workers, the service is aimed at 11-18 year olds who are affected by deafness or their siblings and close friends.  The group gives young deaf people the chance to build their communication skills and friendships outside of school with others facing the same barriers. The group is a supportive environment, where no one is left out and most importantly, they get to have fun!

We achieve this through weekly activities, events throughout the summer holidays, drop-ins, sports, family days, community integration projects, achievement and involvement projects and a youth council with organisation and leadership roles.

Don’t worry if your Young Scot card is out of date – simply visit their Young Scot website.
Please help our fantastic city wide service and vote now!
