As our first full-time employee, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the growth, culture, and impact of our innovative tech-for-good platform.
Role overview
As Sales Manager, you will lead SignPort’s sales and partnership strategy, driving user, interpreter, and organisational growth. You will work directly with the founding team to execute our phased go-to-market plan, build strategic relationships, and deliver measurable impact for both commercial and social goals. You will be a hands-on operator, trusted partner, and future leader as the team scales.
Key responsibilities
● Own and execute the sales strategy to onboard public sector, corporate, charity clients, and educational institutions (NHS trusts, councils, charities, universities, banks, agencies).
● Build, manage, and nurture relationships with Deaf organisations, interpreter networks, and accessibility leaders.
● Drive outreach and presentations: host demos, webinars, workshops, and attend sector events to grow brand awareness and trust.
● Develop and manage the sales pipeline, track leads, conversions, and retention via CRM.
● Collaborate with marketing to create tailored campaigns, case studies, and success stories.
● Collect market intelligence and user feedback to inform product development and commercial tactics.
● Report directly to the founders on KPIs, pipeline status, and emerging opportunities / risks.
● Contribute to building the company’s inclusive, community-focused culture
Requirements
● Proven track record in B2B / B2G sales, partnerships, or business development (preferably in SaaS, social enterprise, accessibility, or public sector markets).
● Experience selling to (or working with) public sector bodies, educational institutions, charities, or accessibility organisations.
● Outstanding communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills (BSL skills a plus, but not required. Commitment to inclusion essential).
● Entrepreneurial spirit: hands-on, resourceful, adaptable, and mission-driven.
● Data-driven mindset. Comfortable with CRM tools, KPIs, and reporting.
● Willingness to represent SignPort at events and with community partners across the UK.
