Join us for a brand-new deaf-led creative night at the Blackwood Bar. A relaxed, welcoming space where BSL expression takes centre stage. Hosted by deaf storytellers, Tania Allan and Trudi Collier, these sessions are designed for the deaf community and signers to come together, have fun, experiment, and explore different creative forms in sign.
This is a space for:
• Storytelling and personal tales
• Comedy and character play
• Visual Vernacular (VV)
• Poetry and signed performance
• Improvisation, games and creative play
• Anything expressive, visual or imaginative in BSL
There’s no pressure to perform. Come along to learn, practise, build confidence, or simply enjoy the atmosphere. People can take part regularly, try something spontaneous, or just watch — everyone is welcome.
The aim is simple. Create a supportive, enjoyable space where BSL creativity thrives, and where the community can connect through shared stories, humour, expression and imagination.
