17 year old Olivia has been coming to our Youth Service for over a year now and has benefitted from meeting other young deaf people. Olivia and 5 other young people will be cycling from Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders to London and will arrive at the BBC studios in time for the annual Children in Need appeal on Friday 18th November.
Our Youth Service is funded by BBC Children in Need and Olivia wanted to give something back. She credits the Service with showing her that “deafness does not have to restrict her life choices and opportunities”. Olivia also takes time to mentor other young deaf people to help them overcome issues of bullying and exclusion.
