Welcome to Easthill Home for Deaf People, situated in Ryde on the beautiful Isle of Wight. With over 70 years of expertise, we pride ourselves on delivering outstanding care to deaf British Sign Language (BSL) users. Our home accommodates up to 13 deaf adults. We understand that everyone has unique needs and require different levels of support, meaning each resident receives a bespoke care package.

Our home
Our home accommodates up to 13 deaf adults. At Easthill, we pride ourselves on fostering a warm and inclusive community, where residents enjoy the support of a dedicated care team. Our comfortable and spacious accommodation provides a relaxing and safe environment. Our communal areas are designed to be accessible and comfortable for all, with ample space for socialising, relaxing, and enjoying daily activities.
Deaf specialist equipment
Our facilities are designed with deaf-friendly equipment to prioritise accessibility and safety, with features such as vibrating alarms, induction loop systems, and flashing light entry systems.
Communicate with ease
We are proud to be able to offer an environment where BSL is used. We can also provide BSL/English interpreters to our residents for appointments, or other engagements.
Our staff
Our staff have experience of working with deaf BSL users, as well as those who may have additional physical, emotional or mental health needs. All staff receive training in BSL in addition to mandatory training.
Our rooms
Our accommodation options are designed to offer privacy and independence, with 13 tastefully furnished rooms that residents can decorate and personalise to their liking.
Delicious food
Our skilled kitchen staff prepare delicious and nutritious meals based on individual preferences and dietary requirements.
Our activities
Residents at Easthill have the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities, from hobbies and holidays to swimming and trips to the theatre. We regularly organise outings to explore the picturesque Isle of Wight, tailored to the interests and needs of our residents.

Supporting independent living
We support our residents to live their lives as independently as possible, whilst providing assistance and care where required.
Our professional care team can support with services such as:
- Assistance with bathing and dressing
- Administering medicines and providing care
- Cleaning all facilities and accommodation
- Laundry and ironing
- Providing meals or assisting in cooking
- Shopping for food and personal goods
- Assistance with book-keeping and personal affairs
- IT assistance
- Providing BSL/English Interpreters
